Before sunrise, travel to the
launch site and help prepare for launch. Nurse a mug of
piping hot tea or coffee as the balloon inflates and the sun
begins to emerge. Then it's up, up and away to soar with the
birds - a never-to-be-forgotten experience. The balloon ride
itself lasts about an hour, but the entire experience,
including breakfast at a country lodge, lasts four hours.

Explore the beautiful Sabie
River Valley on horseback. Passing through the surrounding
farmland, fruit orchards and along the riverbanks. The
trails are suitable for experienced riders or novices. Don't
forget your binoculars as you may just spot a malachite
kingfisher, a purple crested loerie or a longcrested eagle,
as well as a hippo or two! |

We travel along the scenic Sabie River through dense wooded
vegetation and rapids - small ones! The more adventurous can

A refreshing experience! A
spectacular waterfall marks the start of our white water
tubing adventure on the Upper Sabie River, an area
accessible to few. Bob down the river on specially designed
tubes, past indigenous forests and the scenic splendour of
the valley. The trip lasts about three hours.

Situated in the Illanga Game
Reserve, the Elephant Sanctuary is home to elephants rescued
from being sent to zoos & circuses overseas and hunting
operations, as well as orphaned elephants. Guests have a
choice of the Early Morning Brushdown, the Elephant
Interaction & Walk, Interactive Elephant Back Tour which
includes the walk and a 30-minute ride in the reserve and
the Sundown Elephant Experience. Feed the elephants, touch
them, walk hand-in-trunk with them and experience the
special relationship the handlers have with their “babies”!
The Elephant Sanctuary is committed to elephant conservation
and has a long term strategy in place to return all its’
elephants back to the wild wherever possible.

being close to these magnificent creatures and witness their
intelligence, their compassionate nature and their sheer
delight interacting with their human counterparts. The
interaction with the elephants offers you the opportunity to
touch them, exchange trunk greetings and offer tasty treats.
Experienced handlers share their in-depth knowledge of
fascinating elephant behaviour. There are 5 different
activity options - Interaction only, Interaction with Short
Ride & Lunch, Early Morning Wake Up, Interaction & Ride,
Sunset Interaction, Ride & Sundowners and the Ultimate
Elephant Experience which includes a picnic on the banks of
the Sabie River.
